Collecting Chestnuts In Sacco (SO)- Italy/ Castagnata a Sacco (SO)

Autumn is time for leaves' falling, getting warm in wool jumpers, eating "polenta" and...collecting chestnuts!
This year I decided to go for a walk in the woods between Sacco and Rasura, two little villages on the montains just above the most famouse village of Morbegno in the county of Sondrio.

The day was perfect: sunny and  warm. I had never been in these villages before and I've been surprised to find out that even there the landscape is full of historic places to visit over beautiful scenery.
In Sacco you can visit the museum of Yeti man (here named Homo Salvadego) and a very nice mountain church.

Along the path that brings to the little village of Rasura, there is an ancient water mill built at the end of XVIII cent. that has now been changed in a very interesting museum http://www.museovanseraf.com/
Arriving to Rasura, I suggest to have lunch at "Baita al Ronco" Loc. Piazza, Rasura (SO), tel +39 348-7291062, closed on thursday, a lovely B&B with an amazing view where food is simply delicoiuse and the owner very warm and helpful. Prices are quite cheap (we spent 15,00 € each person for a full italian meal) and they also have 2 rooms at a very affordable price if you want to stay few days.

Finalmente è arrivato l'autunno, la stagione più pittoresca dell'anno, soprattutto in montagna. Tempo di tirar fouri i maglioncini di lana, mangiar la polenta e andare a catstagne!
Quest'anno abbiamo scelto i boschi appena sopra Morbegno (SO).

Siamo partiti da Sacco (SO), incantevole paesino dove è possibile visitare il museo dello Yeti (qui chiamato Homo Salvadego http://www.paesidivaltellina.it/homosalvadego/index.htm ) e una splendida chiesetta di montagna.

Da sacco si può imboccare il sentiero che, passando attraverso un bel bosco di castagne, si raggiunge un antico mulino costruito alla fine del XVIII secolo e ora trasformato in museo.

Proseguendo oltre si arriva al piccolo borgo di Rasura, dove consiglio di pranzare alla "Baita al Ronco" Loc. Piazza, Rasura (SO), tel 348-7291062, chiuso al giovedì.
Si tratta di un B&B carinissimo e con una vista sulla vallata spettacolare.
La propietaria è una signora simpaticissima  e molto disponibile e lei e la figlia cucinano davvero bene.

Noi abbiamo speso 15,00 € a testa per un pranzo completo (probabilmente  a cena i prezzi potrebbero essere diversi). Inoltre la propietaria ha due stanze disponibili per chi vuole fermarsi qualche giorno.
